Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Monthly and Greenville Business Monthly recently conducted a contest of its readers to determine which company provided the best office cleaning services? In this inaugural contest, the readers chose Palmetto Commercial Services in Columbia, SC, as the top provider of office cleaning services in the state for 2021. There were several finalists, but Palmetto Commercial Services was the only finalist that was not a franchise.
Palmetto Commercial Services was featured in all three of these publications in the January issue. The focus of the article was to highlight a business that was able to pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic. PCS was not only able to adapt quickly to the new environment, but was able to educate and reach a new customer base that previously was unaware of the sanitizing and disinfecting services it offers. Other leads groups promote increased awareness which can lead to new sales, but helping a business develop goes well beyond the awareness factor.

The State Newspaper, located in Columbia, South Carolina, recently awarded Palmetto Commercial Services, the award for Best Cleaning Service for 2021. PCS also won this award, out of all cleaning companies, in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, making this the 5th consecutive year for cleaning services. This recognition came after a vote from The State Newspaper’s readers from cleaning companies of all types, not just commercial cleaning services. Palmetto Commercial Services was awarded the prestigious BBB Torch Award for Business Ethics in 2017 for the small business category. The BBB Torch Award recognizes business who excel in several areas of business. PCS was also named a finalist for the medium business category in 2020 and 2021. The winner of this award is compared with all other finalists in the respective categories, not just cleaning companies. Winners are not eligible for 3 years after winning, as to give other companies the chance to compete for this award. It is designed to judge companies on a variety of business skills and may vary from year to year.
