Extreme cleaning is a generic term used for cleaning that most cleaning services do not offer. Extreme cleaning can refer to a home that hasn't been properly cleaned in 10+ years (most people request a deep cleaning, but a deep cleaning is generally insufficient). Extreme cleaning can also include cleaning an area with an insect infestation. Most cleaning companies will not clean an area if it has live (or dead) roaches, ants, spiders, fleas and/or bed bugs, as they may not have staff willing to clean these areas, wear the proper PPE or may have allergies to the insects. Areas affected by animal and/or human urine or feces can require restoration work, but can also be cleaned at the surface - most cleaning companies do not want to clean these areas. Areas with extreme clutter and/or hoarding is considered extreme, as the clutter and debris need to be properly addressed first before the cleaning can take place. Extreme cleaning can comprise some residential cleaning, some commercial cleaning, some restoration cleaning and some biohazard cleaning (not bloodborne pathogen cleaning, but fecal and urine cleaning).
