Office Cleaning Company Fails – Bathrooms
Deep cleaning services have skyrocketed in recent months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Office cleaning companies generally do an adequate job cleaning buildings, but generally miss certain areas. Look around your office and see if your janitorial service is failing to clean these areas.
Bathrooms should be properly cleaned on each visit. Dusting can be overlooked during the cleaning process due to the height of some of the horizontal surfaces. Tops of partitions can be covered with dust, but most cleaning technicians aren’t tall enough to see the dust. Therefore, weekly cleaning of the top of partitions is suggested. Some commercial bathrooms have tile walls. These walls will accumulate dust, especially under the HVAC vents. Dusting should be performed on these walls at least monthly, if not more often. If the tile wall doesn’t extend to the ceiling, the top ledge of the wall should be dusted weekly.
The backs of toilet tanks should be cleaned and dusted each visit. Office cleaning companies should be cleaning the tops of the toilet paper holders, seat covers, and the handicap rails should be dusted daily, as paper dust will be generated on each use and can accumulate daily. Additionally, the inside of the partitions should be cleaned at least weekly, especially in the men’s restrooms near the urinals, as urine can accumulate on these areas.
